Project Description:

This project is about a two-storey load-bearing mansory building with one basement and wooden roof, built in the 1900s, with a total area of approximately 563 m2. The structural design was carried out into two stages :

At first, mapping/documentation and on-site investigation of the existing building was implemented in order to locate the damages caused by the 30/10/2020 earthquake of magnitude of 6,7R. The deliverables of the first stage were the following: detailed damage documentation drawings which depicted the type and location of damages and cracks of the structural elements of the building and a technical report with the aforementioned macroscopic observations. The second stage was about the structural design, at both scheme and detailed design stages, which included the evaluation of the structural capacity and the strengthening techniques of the structure. Moreover, detailed cost estimation of the abovementioned repairs was implemented, according to the articles and schedule of prices described by the corresponding law. The structural design analysis was carried out using the ETABS 19.1.0 software package.
